Hawai’i Preparatory Academy offers a multitude of learning experiences, outdoor activities, and educational programs on one of the most beautiful islands in the world. Our teachers and support staff are experts in their fields, and never fail to share their own enthusiasm with the students. A Peek at Our Summer Session

Our curriculum was developed to provide students with a multi-faceted complement of fun, yet challenging subjects. The daily courses are a well-balanced mix of classroom study, hands-on outdoor ecological learning, the latest scientific and technological developments, and several creative opportunities.

• Algebra I introduces the students to the basics of Algebraic manipulation and thinking skills. In addition to classroom activities, students participate in group and individual projects and investigations and utilize the latest technology to solve problems.
• The Creative Writing course is geared to awaken students’ imaginations and their natural interests in scientific principles by combining creative writing with STEM. Marrying the two disciplines teaches the students to use creative methods of demonstrating their understanding of a concept.
• In Basic Web Development, students will be introduced to HTML and CSS programming. Using The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) standard training software, students will be allowed to explore these important coding languages at their own pace.

Capture the Big Island/Summer Yearbook

Your child might easily develop a deep, lasting enthusiasm for photography and nature as a professional photographer guides him or her through basic photography techniques, such as framing and exposure. The endless beauty of Hapuna Beach, the Kohala Mountains, and other gorgeous areas in Hawai’i will be their subjects. The photos will be used to create their own personal yearbook of unforgettable summer memories.
